I would be a fool to take that bet, but I think it will end closer than it currently is

Are you sure? Cos I really need that premium lol

Re: S14 Bird "Literal MVP" - discussion thread

Jan-17 performances:

Mr. "Sniper" Clutch (Stu pac) - 48 Points; 1 Assist; 1 Block; 2 TOs.  EDX (#6) def. RKBB (#7) 105-103.

Nurse "Three Eye" On Duty (majpain) - 30 Points; 3 Assists; 2 Rebounds; 1 TO. Always Ballin (#1) def. Full Eclipse (#8) 117-100.

Ronnie Magsanoc (closet) - 24 Points; 7 Assists; 2 Steals; 1 TO. Diliman United (#3) def by. Honolulu LocoMoco (#2) 99-128.

Allison Stokke (blowcaine) - 10 Points; 13 Assists; 4 Rebounds; 1 TO. RKCH (#14) def. Titans Forever (#19) 119-99.

Marilyn "The Blanket" Manson (Greg0781) - 2 Points; 1 Assist; 0 Steals; 1 Block; 1 TO. RKBB (#7) def by. EDX (#6) 103-105.

S u p e r M a n (chazfu) - 6 Points; 19 Rebounds; 1 Assist; 0 TO. RKCH (#14) def. Titans Forever (#19) 119-99.

Rankings for 17-Jan Performances:
1. Ronnie Magsanoc - Another top game for Magsanoc. 24/7/2. If he could average that all season he'd be MVP for sure hahah.
2. Mr. "Sniper" Clutch - Gets back his scoring touch in leading his team to a close win over #7 RK Beer Barons.
3. Nurse "Three Eye" On Duty - 30 points/3 assists if another twist, he probably needs to amp up the assists. But edges out Stokke based on opposition and the team he is on.
4. Stokke - Another nice game for Stokke, but the SOS lets him down.
5. S u p e r M a n - A very below average game. 6/19 isn't very impressive. But it's still a helluva lot better than what Manson did.
6. Manson - Didn't even get a steal. Disgusting.

Re: S14 Bird "Literal MVP" - discussion thread

He's still a top MVP candidate.

But any more games like that will truly drag down his average.

Your definition for slowly disappearing is 2 games?

I'm not saying he's an MVP candidate, but since he's here in this thread I do stand up for my teammate.  2 games is hardly "disappearing"...Considering there are 35 or so games of stellar play.  I'm not saying your wrong, I'm pretty damn sure that he is nowhere near MVP level.  Cause with how this system works, the only "real" candidate as determined by the sim is a scorer, as we've seen is the case majority of the time.  I'm also not so egotistical on this site to even think that I'm always right or that my players or my teammates players are the friggin bomb diggity.  Remember, I only ever brought up any of my teammates, initially, in the thread that asked to name the MVP candidate from YOUR team, hence my choice of either Vittorio Bene or Marilyn Manson.  I even state in this thread that I don't think K. Rudd, my player, even belongs.

Choose your words wisely is all I'm saying.

(That became a bit of a rant)

Nurse "Three Eye" On Duty (majpain) - 21 Points; 6 Assists; 2 Rebounds; 0 TOs. Always Ballin (#2) def by. Honolulu LocoMoco (#1) 115-117.

Ronnie Magsanoc (closet) - 22 Points; 10 Assists; 1 Steal; 0 TOs. Diliman United (#3) def. web (#13) 117-107.

Rankings for 18-Jan Performances:
1. Ronnie Magsanoc - This guy....man. He's had the best game 3 days in a row now...22/10 and a steal...Very, very nice.
2. Nurse "Three Eye" On Duty - A great 21/6 game from Nurse on Duty...though his team loses another game.
3. Allison Stokke - An average game from Stokkie in a win. Good to see his team lifting into Pro A to propell him up in contention.
4. Mr. "Sniper" Clutch - A poor game at under 30 points, but still bests S u p e r M a n and Manson. Inconsistent, but averages out as a 45ppg scorer still.
5. S u p e r M a n - A pretty blah performance from S u p e r M an.
6. Manson - Another very poor performance.

Re: S14 Bird "Literal MVP" - discussion thread

I know this is a little late to the party, but I think Carl Fredrickson from NDSU deserves some props.  He isn't even the top rebounder on our team, but his supporting stats are pretty damn impressive.

23.6 Rebounds/G
2.6 Assists/G
4.6 Points/G
52.6 shooting %
94.7% from the charity stripe

Nothing blows you out of the water, but impressive as a whole.

Nothing impressive enough to be considered in a MVP discussion.

Comparing him to the Rebounder that is on the list.

23.6 Rebounds vs. 22.2
4.6 Points vs. 9.1
2.6 Assists vs. 0.6
0.3 Blocks vs. 0.6
0.2 Steals vs. 0.4
1.4 Turnovers vs. 1.5
52.7% shooting vs. 50.5%
94.7% FT vs. 80.0%

Change the 2 more assists/game into 4 points if he had scored the points and you are looking at 23.6 and 8.6 vs 22.2 and 9.1

I may be partial to my teammate, but I'd rather have Carl....

Re: S14 Bird "Literal MVP" - discussion thread

I'd vote neither really, the rebound totals are pretty low for both.  Good players, not MVP finalists.
