Just Ask Axe

http://img25.imageshack.us/img25/1499/batsignalqq.jpg

In line with a request in Doctor Nick's What needs to be fixed? thread,

Crashnburn_ wrote:

10. A Q+A session with a staff member once every month, every other week, whatever. Whenever somebody can sit down for an hour or two and do it. Let users really know what they need to and satisfy the voice of the community. I guarantee that if Kaz was to make time for this one day every month, activity would pick up.

I'm putting this thread up, and leaving it open to questions for a while. Some questions might be answered quickly, some might take me a while to get to. But I promise to try and answer all reasonable questions.
Oh -- and stupidity won't be tolerated within this thread.

So, ask away!

Re: Just Ask Axe

Um this is kool. Do you think there is a possibility we could get a new pbp layout like slightly suggested in the suggestions forum?

EDIT: Lol First post. Beat slightly by 10 seconds and coke by 9.

Re: Just Ask Axe

What is the next big addition (sim related, community related, sale related etc.) planned for Court Rivals?

Re: Just Ask Axe

First question. What is the best way to find a new player for my team? I am having no luck in the Teams Looking For Players forum.

Indeed it will - as long as people don't clog it with rubbish such as trying to get someone to join their team

Yeah that is true. Thanks for this thread Axe. As long as you answer the questions posted here as often as you can this thread will be a great success.

At this stage, I don't exactly know. I do know that we're looking at a lot of the suggestions. The biggest thing on the slate at the moment is basically getting the game information updated to where it should be, so that it more accurately reflects the changes that have already occurred.
I'll do a bit more work and see if there's anything particularly imminent.

This is really a question that you could probably pose to the general populace, but I'd suggest PMing people whose players you know are without a team at the moment. Perhaps asking not only if they'd like to join your team, but if they know of anyone without a team.
Generally speaking, the Teams Looking For Players forum is your best bet.

Re: Just Ask Axe

What are you guys planning to do to help encourage a bigger, more active userbase?

Meaning...what are you guys planning to do to help the new guys stay interested in the game?

Making the help system/knowledge base correct would help. Moving the rookie forum to a forum in it's own right may or may not help - hopefully that gets down since it was suggested on the very day the forum was put in (as a sub-forum).

I think cutting down rollback to starting at 40% is the best option personally. 9 months to wait to play the game probably is far far too long and is the main contributor to why people join up and lose interest...

Re: Just Ask Axe

Seriously man (referring to coke), this thread is about the larger questions plaguing the game not personal stuff.  Some people are busy, and cold calling (sending PMs) doesn't work well for recruiting.  You made your thread, let people come to you.

Re: Just Ask Axe

Can you get Kaz to admit that the only reason 3pt Shooting and Speed are in the second tier of the Skill Tree is for symmetry? and FT and Leadership aren't in the TSP Tree for the exact same reason?

Or maybe I should re-word it...

Can we get an explanation as to why these particular attributes were singled out - and if it were simply for the symmetry, (I'm perfectly all right with that) I'd just like to know that.

Edit: This is serious even if it comes off as facetious...heh heh.

Re: Just Ask Axe

I tried this on CentSports....It worked until people turned it into a---let's ask dumb questions to demoralize the staff or ask questions that the staff can't answer and then ignore it.

It was successful for a couple weeks though, hopefully it'll be better here.

Re: Just Ask Axe

Harbour I think 3's is delayed on purpose because of their power, agree 100% on the rest though.

That may be the case - but that doesn't mean it was done on purpose.

It was certainly the assumption we all gravitated toward - but we never got any real confirmation - I know The KazMan likes his symmetry.

Re: Just Ask Axe

I assume symmetry was the motivating factor, and then 3's were selected as the "fall guy" for the reason I stated.  Same with speed (but because few people used it).

Re: Just Ask Axe

briefly, it would be helpful to list the questions and answers in the first thread. Keeps everything nice and tidy.

In the average week, how many total hours do you spend on the site? Be it on the forums, the game, or just lurking and making sure things aren't out of control.
