You mean #13....

I thought we were gonna turn some heads this week, but after B4D stomped us back-to-back nights, I also am surprised we are still in Pro A.

Overall, not too shabby considering we didn't Rat last year.  Just need to hang around long enough to steal a #2 spot away from someone more deserving wink

I was just giving you a hard time Hannibal. I appreciate you taking time out of your life to entertain us with your rankings. I would never truly complain about some ones rankings, I don't do them so I enjoy reading them.

Nice pickup with Disgruntled Postmen. They really came out of nowhere lately. All of a sudden they were better than us...Hmmm.

Re: Hannibal's Weekly(ish) Top Ten

Sorry I'm a little late Hannibal, but thanks for the write up.  I appreciate the analysis that you put into this.

And just in case anyone is wondering, the Disgruntled Postmen are a serious contender.  Not that I'm afraid of them, but I would really prefer to not see them in my bracket.

He's not really inferring anything Harbour, ... just stirring the pot a little.

btw, ... our (DP) "massive" form swings are a worry, ... - last night's game vs "TDD"  - http://www.courtrivals.com/showBoxscore.php?gid=506100

like I said before .... there are some wierd "SIM" results so far this season.  hmm

Re: Hannibal's Weekly(ish) Top Ten

i think #13 is bang on for us, we're the best of the rest, we excel when we're in Pro B and just cant get the important wins to stay in Pro A and join the elite of the league.

thanks for taking the time to do this.

BBD just edged out SC tonight, despite SC coming back from a 18 point 4th quarter deficit behind the sweet shooting stroke of steph curry.

I'm not steph curry...I have 4 players! I don't identify with any of them.

Krish, I've been trying to get them out after Wednesday's games.  I'm on the road today, so I may or may not get them out tonight.  But, I'll make sure to have them out by tomorrow evening.

Re: Hannibal's Weekly(ish) Top Ten

Just got this one in under the wire...One week left until the playoffs begin (and until these rankings are put to the test/rendered moot).  But, as teams jockey for those choice playoff seeds, let’s see where this author ranks them.

#1) Crunch Time (31-4) (Last Week: 1): This team is just awesome right now.  Crunch Time went 7-0 for the week, clinched a 1-seed, and has a theoretical magic number of 1 to clinch the top overall seed…Just awesome.

#2) Eggsistential Crisis (22-13) (Last Week: 6):[Homer Alert]…We came within one basket of having a perfect week, and had a strong showing against top 10 teams (3-1 and an additional win against the Best of the Rest).  As we hold the 3rd highest rating, and given the weaker weeks of two of the other current 1-seeds, Eggsistential Crisis finds itself holding the #2 ranking…[/Homer Alert]

#3) Disgruntled Postmen (21-14) (Last Week: 3): Disgruntled Postmen cooled down a bit from last week by going 4-3 with all of its wins coming against top 10/Last Out competition.  Yet another win against Champinoship Crew finds themselves ahead of their familiar foes (even though they held the same ranking).

#4) Champinoship Crew (24-11) (Last Week: 2): For the first time this season, Champinoship Crew has found itself not in the #2 spot.  CC had its worst week since week 1 going 4-3 (1-3 against the top 10).

Quick aside here:  Champinoship Crew played two--let me reiterate that… 2--games against college teams this week.  On both days (2/26 and 3/1) another top ten, Pro A team (Titans Forever) played a Pro B team.  Why didn’t these teams play on these days?  Titans Forever went on to play a College A team on 3/2.  Can we please have the match-up formula be revamped before next season?  Make sure that scheduling reviews challenges first, and then go top down by rating.

#5) Ballin' for Dummies (20-15) (Last Week: 7): With a nice 4-3 week (4-2 against the top ten, and the other stray loss against Last Out RKCH), B4D found themselves back on the top half of the table.  With a week left, will B4D be able to work its way into a top seed?

#6) Basketball Beyond Diplomacy (20-15) (Last Week: 5): BBD finds itself on the bottom half of this top 10 for the first time this season.  BBD went a relatively weak 1-4 against the top 10 this week, but every one of those games was against a top 5 team.  This is a strong team, who could easily have a reversal of fortune next week against those same teams.  But, for now, BBD will have to settle for the sixth ranking and a 2-seed.

#7) Full Eclipse (23-12) (Last Week: 10): FE continues to make a push in the second half of the season, and thus assert itself as a contender.  With a strong 5-2 week (3-2 against the top 10), FE is playing better than its current 10th highest rating implies.  FE is poised to be a scary Elite 8 match-up for someone.

#8) The Day Dreamers (20-15) (Last Week: 4): There are good weeks; there are bad weeks; and then there is the week that TDD had.  TDD decided to have its worst week of the season at the time you are hoping to hit your stride.  A shockingly subpar 2-5 week (1-5 against the top 10) has TDD finding itself back on the wrong side of the top 10 and on the precipice of losing a coveted 2-seed.

#9) Raiders of the Lost Walrus (23-12) (Last Week: NR): RotLW reclaimed a top 10 spot with an impressive 6-1 week, including 1-1 against the top 10 and a win over Best of the Rest Stout Blue Devils.  With a veteran team, and a MVP candidate (Walrus Jones), this is a team that you would rather not find in your bracket (especially as a sleeper 3).

#10) Titans Forever (23-12) (Last Week: #9): How do you go 7-0 in a week and drop in the rankings?  Play only one real team (Last Out RKCH).  Titans quite frankly got screwed by the scheduling gods who happen to put 5 straight Pro B teams, then to spice it up a College A, before returning them to a Pro A match-up.  Congratulations on a nice week, but I have to drop you a spot.

The Last Out/Best of the Rest—RK Croquet Hoes and Stout Blue Devils: RKCH kept up the tougher competition, and was able to put up a top 10 win this week (1-4).  However, RKCH needed to beat Titans Forever to claim that last spot, and this week they came up just short…Stout Blue Devils, you have officially been mentioned as a noteworthy team.  I have little else to say than beat a top ten team (0-2 this week) or risk being returned to the nameless.

The Fallen:Diliman United (21-14) (Last Week: 8)—Last week I wrote:

Hannibal wrote:

However, this is a strong team who should solidify its two seeding in future weeks and push for a one-seed

Okay, so I got that call wrong.  Diliman had a rough week, going 3-4 (0-3 against top 10), and unfortunately find themselves as a 3-seed.  DU should be regarded as a dangerous team, but partially because the most dangerous creatures are those that are wounded.

There you have the wrap up.  And since I was foolish enough to do it last week, here’s how you round out your top 20:

#13) Diliman United, #14) NDSU Bison, #15) RK Beer Barons, #16) The DHarans, #17) Golden State Warriors 09-10, #18) Strong Cundiff, #19) Chicken Mafia, #20) Kirlington Hedgehogs
