That is BS, no one thinks that meaningful posts are spam.  The trick is to know the difference between contributing a thought, and saying "this smile".  Good to hear about Kenny and Charles, that is a nice thing you do.

Re: Court Rivals Hall of Fame

You know what's funny?

I'll never win a scoring title.
I'll never be considered an elite guard.
I'll never be a defensive player of the season or even be reasonably considered.
I'll never have pretty stats.
My shooting and free throw will likely be horrible.
My turnovers will be okay
My passing will be subpar
I've only won a player of the game nod a couple of times ever based on stats.

Instead I have three championships and was on the two teams that both won back to back championships.

I am here simply to lament those players that help make huge gains for the team at the sacrifice of self.

I'd like to nominate, the leadership players.  No specific names.  No finger pointing at the glory, simply the blanket acknowledgment of players that give up the shiny of stats and instead help the rest of the team look pretty and win.  Be they point guards, or Centers, Leadership is an amazing thing that never seems to get recognition other than a championship trophy when done right.  So how about a generic recognition of the Leadership players?

Just a thought.

Good point.  I'd rather be Robert Horry than Allen Iverson.

A HOF though doesn't necessarily recognize these players and I don't know if there is a way to accurately do so.  Some players who put up prolific numbers on non-championship teams still should be recognized for doing so in context.  I guess the players who are "role" players on championship teams will most likely be rewarded with bragging rights big_smile

Great point.Of course a Leadership guy should be given serious thought to the Hall of Fame if hes deserving.
How to best determine how he gets in is up for discussion. If we can find a path for a leadership player to be inducted or be a nomination, it would help.
I can only think of certain factors that may help a leadership player be nominated.
1.Turnover Ratio
2.Championships
3.Value to the team.
4.Self Sacrifice (As mentioned)
5.Maybe Free Throws playing a part.
6.Seasons in CR
