gym ratting season after season eventually makes you all powerful.  It's what I feared from Rotoguru had they executed as I thought they would.

Re: Who is gym ratting next season?

I can't really see how they could get more powerful unless they GR again.  Even with a rat, haven't teams peaked already?  I mean how much higher could any of us go in the future?

But they didn't rat this past season...

Re: Who is gym ratting next season?

I forgot to mention, the biggest factor for the future is who reacts and adapts the best to the upcoming sim changes.  I know after ratting this season the Raiders will be jacked, but we are built for a sim that might not exist anymore tongue

Re: Who is gym ratting next season?

It's getting a little pathetic that people are opting to rat because X teams decided to.

You can take Tezaku.s Hammer off the list... oh, we're not on.
Well... we're not GRing.  Ummm... kinda.  Maybe.

I'm still so shocked that people still think that GRing = auto lose.

Guess my definition of competitive is way different than others.

*Edit*

Or rather, TRY to be "competitive".  Waste.

Re: Who is gym ratting next season?

Well yeah, our definition of "competitive" is very, very different.  I have no doubt that we could rat in such a way that would lead to an elite 8 appearance, but I don't see the point.

Comparing season 11 West to season 16 Jordan is a bit silly tongue

Re: Who is gym ratting next season?

Try that again.

Rat the whole team and lemme know how that works.

We're not talking about ratting just the RP players.  At least I'm not.

Yeah, I assume when anyone says "rat" they mean a full out, full team rat.  Tons of team individually rat role players in normal seasons.

Re: Who is gym ratting next season?

That's the thing. Everyone can be an RP player with proper slider setup -- a concept that a ton of people still can't embrace. Obviously, I'm going to go no further on this. I hope you understand why.

Everyone?  lol

8 out of 10, yah.  Not 10 out of 10.

No keep going, the best I can think of is:

lead
lead
BH
FT
speed

for both lines.

Re: Who is gym ratting next season?

Umm... yes, they can Matty. And no -- not going any further with this.

And by the way, I ratted all except the rebounders in that season... and proved it. Rebounding is not so ultra-important that I couldn't have been competitive had I GR'd them too -- just may not have made it quite that far. I am one of those that just can't buy into spending 46 days of my life on a game and accepting that only the last three matter. That's a waste of time and money IMO. It doesn't necessarily take a championship to have a season to be proud of... and feel a sense of accomplishment with. I like to play all 46 days. I want to win them all. None is really that much more important than another IMO. At the end of the day, a title is just little words on a profile page. Happiness for me is playing a game seriously and well for 46 days, not in acting as if the first 42 don't matter.

Granted I do still "build for the future" like we all do...

I completely agree on all 45 days being just as important.  Is winning the game (or at least going to it) nice?  Hell yah, but IMO any of the final 4 (maybe even Elite 8) teams could win it all if the dice went their way.

However, I do disagree that you could win with 10 players in the RP tree.

*edit*

Sorry, by "win" I mean be in contention for a championship.  Real contention.

Re: Who is gym ratting next season?

Total agreement on the 45 days.  That is my main point about ratting, if I can't dominate the regular season I want no part in it.  You know we agree on rebounding as well tongue

Re: Who is gym ratting next season?

I'm actually "fully" ratting for the first time this season... and not overly excited about it. It is a necessary evil however given that I took the last two (or was it three) seasons off.

How I overcome that? Embrace the challenge that is sneaking up on teams despite.

Or rather, TRY to be "competitive".  Waste.

It has been proven that you can be successful GRing to various degrees, even doing an all out rat.  Especially come playoff time, why would you not want to be playing your best on day 45 rather than day 5?  In fact many top teams now use a strategy that is fairly similar to a smart full gym rat strategy.

I guess it is mostly philosophical as to what you value in being "competitive".  Would you rather rebuild and still have a chance to be competitive in playoffs or spend a season with no chance to compete and possibly have a slightly better chance the following season but by no means a guarantee to succeed.
