Counting Down the Greatest Jordan Teams of All-Time: 10-6

Here's #10-#6...There was one team that really didn't know where to place, but after careful consideration I think I've found the best place for them where they are above those teams who have similar final 4/Championship stats and below those with great final 4 numbers. They haven't been around long at all, only had two playoff runs - But made it to the Championship game every time and winning a Championship is a very valuable thing.

I'm hoping this gets some discussion and comments and speculation on the top 5 and it's order and such...Who's your top 5? Top 3? Who's your #1? etc. A lot of this, outside of the top 3 or 4 was very hard to judge. Compared to the teams 15-11, how does this stack up? Etc.

This team, like HKWSC, wasn't around very long at all - Only 4 seasons. However they completely dominanted and were always a championship contender when they were here. If they were around even 2 more seasons they probably would've been way higher up this list, but due to only being here for seasons they are #10, just beating out HKWSC as you can see just by looking at the numbers here in a similar amount of seasons (4 vs. 5). In Season 12, A Spoonful of Sugar burst onto the scene as bbkaos and mattya802 joint forces with a group of veterans and excellent trainers to formulate a good plan. They went 31-11 and got all the way to the final 4 before being slaughtered by eventual champions Guardians. In Season 13 they had confidence coming into the playoffs riding a 17-1 streak but they were upset by another hot team, The Minions in the Elite 8 as they had another similar season in terms of record. Season 14 was undoubtedly their best season, a season where no team even came close to coming within a mile of CTTF, RotLP and ASS. Competing with those two teams is a credit in itself. In the end though, the wheels came off and CTTF crushed them leading to a final four exit. Season 15 being a little disappointing in comparison to the previous three, but that just demonstrated the benchmark set by those previous three seasons - coming into the playoffs ranked 5th they lost in the Elite 8 to the Skyflakes.

This team of veteran users was in Pro A and the Elite 8 every season of it's exsistence and was always in the Top 5 as well. If they'd stayed around longer they might've solidified their own place in Jordan history and certainly, been a lot higher in these rankings.

mikasa032 created this team and quickly grew into a respectable user and knowledgeable captain who is regarded today as a top user in Jordan and Court Rivals. This team gets the nod of ASS due to it's Championship Game and extra Final Four appearance, something ASS wasn't around long enough to achieve, or to justify me putting them higher. Skyflakes started out as a solid second tier Jordan team as they had respectable Pro B seasons in Season 10 & 11, getting to the Sweet 16 each time and getting closer to the Elite 8 and to Pro A. However they took a step backwards in Season 12 and Gym Ratted in Season 13, and it appears in Season 14. With the players, the knowledge and the gym ratting seasons under their belt - The Skyflakes were finally ready to fulfill their potential as over the next five seasons they would make 3 Sweet 16s, 3 Elite 8s, 3 Final 4s and a Championship Game. In Season 15 they put up a very repsectable effort in a 12 point loss to RotLP in the final four. Having gained respect and a huge taste of success, they came back for more in Season 16. Ranked 7th, they lost again in the final four - to CTTF this time. Losing to RotLP and CTTF gave them a taste of the big time and they gym ratted again to get some more in Season 18. This time, they pushed past everyone to reach the grand final - Only to face one of the two unquestioned greatest teams of all-time in Jordan: RotLP. They lost, but solidified themselves as a great team in Jordan.

After ratting Season 19, Skyflakes are again ready to come off their gym rat season with another sweet 16, elite 8, final 4 and who knows from there.

The Rotoguru Phoenix were an odd team, always gym ratting, always surprising, never competing but always competing. But anyway, this team remained #1 in Team TPs for the majority of the first half of their exsistence and they still competed. Great trainers, really good trainers - but that's a matter of opinion (Who remembers HanesOnU vs. Weykool, anyone?). In Season 8 they surprised a lot of pundits by making it to the Championship Game. Largely written off as "point whores" they managed 26-16 record and a #5 ranking. They defeated #4 ranked Greater Crew and then defeated Bgirls Lovers to get to the championship game but losing by 20 to CTTF in the end. The Phoenix gained a #8 ranking the next season and faced the #1 Bgirls Lovers again but this time fell at the Elite 8. Through Season 10 and 11 they took a step back as their TP soared way higher than any other team but still made the Elite 8 in Season 10. In Season 12 they awoke from their Gym Ratting slumber and were ranked #3 and only lost to RotLP by 2 points in the Final 4. Season 14 they came back again being ranked 5th, but falling to RotLP for the third season in a row. In Season 15 they competed again to be upset in the second round by an unknown team and in Season 16 they were ranked 55th as half the team likely wasn't training.

Very impressive team that is probably underrated when history is looked back on in the minds of some. They made the championship game in Season 8, fell to CTTF, #1 Bgirls and RotLP in their competing seasons. They have made 3x Final 4, 1x Championship Game and were consistently in Pro A and making the further rounds of the playoffs. An excellent team, with excellent achievements.

A barcelonafan8 created team - They featured the first ever 4-time MVP Bgirls Poolboy. Poolboy dominanted the Jordan league in scoring and he has the awards to show. In Season 8 they had a very comendable season being ranked 8th and getting all the way to the Final Four, losing to Rotoguru Phoenix. In Season 9 and 10 they were the #1 ranked teams and had 35+ win seasons on the way to their two #1 Overall Seeds in their history. In Season 11 they were a #1 seed again and lost in the Elite 8 to Super Heroes in Training and then lost in next seasons Sweet 16 to CTTF after being ranked 7th and suffered the same fate after being ranked 16th in Season 13. After Gym Ratting in Season 14, they lost in the Elite 8 to RotLP and couldn't get anything going in their final season.

Bgirls get the nod for spot #7 over Rotoguru due to their regular sesaon dominance which has been put above Rotoguru's extra Final 4 and Championship due to the consistentcy of Bgirls success. These teams had the same timelines (Season 8 - Season 16) and they were always competing.


#6 Horseman of the Apocalypse
Season 16 -

This team was the hardest team to judge. They have achieved so much but have played so little. But they get to #6 due to having the same or better Final Four stats as the teams above them (excluding Skyflakes who only have 1 Championship Game appearance) and their 2x Championship Games and 1x Championship takes them over the other teams. They aren't higher because I felt like I really couldn't justify putting them in the top 5 after two very very successful seasons - even with a championship. I feel like the overall length of participation, bulk achievements and achievements per season of the top 5 are better but it is a real hard thing to work out - the ranking of this team that is - since they have achieved so much but played so little.

In Season 16 they were ranked 47th and made the playoffs in their first season - I have no confirmation as to whether they were gym ratting or whether it was just natural improvement through experience and/or knowledge - but in Season 17 they had a vast improvement to 21-21 and a ranking of #15. Expectedly according to their #15 ranking, they made the Sweet 16, but what came after that shocked the Jordan world. They edged out Space Jam by 2 points. But after only winning by 2 points, surely their run wouldn't continue as Elite 8 would've been a successful season for this team but they then completely blew out Super Heroes in Training in the Elite 8 and did the same to Clan McDuck in the Final 4 and lost in the Championship Game to RotLP. Amazing. After knowing what they could achieve and how close they were to it, they gym ratted Season 18 and came out firing in Season 19 - ready to compete for the championship. They did exactly that with a #1 seed and 28-14 record. They ran over teams, including The Bluntastic 10 and High Expectations, to the Final 4 where they faced #1 Overall Seed Space Jam - they continued their success over Space Jam in the playoffs - as they narrowly beat them, just as they did in Season 17. In the Championship Game they faced upstart #12 seed Three Stars and A Sun, winning by 7 on their way to a championship in their second season of Pro A/B.

Horseman of the Apocalypse have a very bright future in the Jordan league and with CTTF and RotLP out of the picture, the league is anybody's to claim and it could be theirs if everybody else isn't careful. Their playoff record so far of 2x Sweet 16, 2x Elite 8, 2x Final 4, 2x Championship Game, 1x Championship is amazing. We'll have to see if they can justify this place in the Greatest Jordan Teams of All-Time by continuing this amazing form.

One or two people thought HKWSC was too low and I was wondering - Looking at the rest of the list - Who you would HKWSC above from that list - They only had 4 overly successful seasons and I feel all those teams have more achievements than them if you simply look at the numbers posted.

I feel like they were slightly overrated in the minds of the people when looking at the history of the league. They were a favourite of many, myself included.

For the clarification, we ratted in season 16 and we had a rigodon on our line up before the season 17 starts. Gwar21(former captain of Terre Haute Thrillbillies and Marissa Trailer Trash), The Dean(former captain of Seventh Evolution), dumdum08(co-captain of Seventh Evolution), Gochu, khalel610, nhardzkie and Mr.Steal27 came in and completed our line up for season 17.

I hope we can defend our crown this season to prove ourselves more.

Wait... bbkaos and Matty were on ASS?  My memory's slippin'...
And personally, I think that ASS and Skyflakes should switch.  I simply don't recall Skyflakes dominating a season like ASS did.
Hell... I don't think Roto were as good as ASS either.

I thought where you had HKWSC was appropriate. People forget how early they called it quits. I originally felt like Horsemen were too high but I guess this past season has to put them somewhere around 6. They've only made the Sweet 16 twice so you can definitely make a case that a team or two could pass them.

The data for Bird was almost completed however with the new Classic/Jordan/West setup -> The standings information isn't available (ie Pro A Seasons, 35+ Win Seasons, #1 Seeds, #1 Overall Seed) The last two could be found...but the rest...Will be hard.

Also - I have Kareem/Bird combined actually because they were together, then separated and evidently now back together again...And teams switched between leagues too.

But there is definitely a case to be made for both - As seen, I did attempt to show justification or my reasons at least for putting teams where I did. It's very tough though.

Agreed... and I probably wouldn't comment, except you asked for input.

I don't really pay much attention to longevity, when most of that is leaning towards mediocrity.  It's no big deal to make the playoffs.  Hell, a decent GR team will make a 6-8 seed easily.
ASS were only around for 4 seasons, but they blitzed whilst they were here.  No titles, sure.  But as you alluded to: there were probably only really two other teams better than them for the duration of their existence.

Well, I know the team that we were from was Shai Ten.  The player I had there is now named Tatsuno Marumu.

I got Demandred (now Lyan Rynch) from Jbob who wanted me to come on his team.....Utopia Utes maybe?  We later merged with a few teams that you guys are mentioning to form ASS.
