Season 36 Power Rankings Week 3

Week 3 (End of Day 21).

1. RGM Mavs
Record: 18-3
Last week’s ranking: 1st
Last week: 5-2

Despite two losses in a row to the rampaging Franchise Connection, including a 32 point smashing today, RGM are still holding on to the top spot. They finally faced Always Forever, and squashed them on both occasions. Another battle with FC looms tomorrow and the result could be an early indicator as to whether or not they will be able to keep a grip on the number one spot.
MVP so far: Gino Pino – 35.5ppg, 43.6% 3pt

2. Franchise Connection
Record: 14-7
Last week’s ranking: 2nd
Last week: 5-2

Here they come. Two victories against RGM this week nearly saw the defending champions climb into top spot, but they’ll have to consistently prove themselves in order to take the next step. They suffered two losses, to Flyswatter and RGM, but made amends for both later in the week.
MVP so far: Jack Frost – 11.9ppg, 20.0rpg, 1.1bpg

3. Flyswatter
Record: 12-9
Last week’s ranking: 4th
Last week: 3-4

Lucky to be in third spot is Flyswatter. Two losses to Franchise connection as well as a surprise loss to the Pawtucket Pats saw their record take a bit of a dip this week, but they should have the talent to steady. They’re still ahead of the pack, but the gap is closing.
MVP so far: Jesus of Nazareth – 20.5rpg, 1.5bpg

4. Pawtucket Pats
Record: 13-8
Last week’s ranking: N/A
Last week: 5-2

Three straight victories to finish off the week see the Pats grab fourth spot this time around. They finished in style, defeating The Buckeye Tigers, and then causing an upset over Flyswatter, before grinding out a win against Crunch Time. Their first match against APOA this season is coming up tomorrow, and we should learn a bit more about how the pack is shaping up.
MVP so far: The Professor – 27.9ppg, 33.8% 3pt

5. Crunch Time
Record: 12-9
Last week’s ranking: 3rd
Last week: 3-4

It’s been an up and down week for Crunch Time. They started with heavy losses to RGM Mavs and Always Forever before another close loss to Always Forever, but managed to snare a win over APOA and get the upper hand over Always Forever in their latest match-up. Crunch Time face Flyswatter again tomorrow, and the result will tell us a lot about where these two teams sit in the scheme of things.
MVP so far: Fozzie Bear – 9.3ppg, 7.9apg, 1.4spg

Just missed out:
A Piece of Art (13-8)
Always Forever (12-9)

Re: Season 36 Power Rankings Week 3

cpark, I just wanted to say thanks for all the write-ups you provided. I enjoyed reading them.

Last two wins against the RGM Mavs were suprising, they probably just fooling around now.

Re: Season 36 Power Rankings Week 3

Thanks mystic. It is always nice to get positive feedback, especially from people other than the 'regulars' (jr, cking, tosweet etc.)

I always thought that the main reason why RGM were doing so well was because of their high rollback, but just then I noticed that FC are only about 150TP behind.

It is a lot harder to tell how good a team is nowadays with the some teams aiming for perks more than regular season wins.

comments/thoughts are needed to make this prw more alive -- especially from captains.

this is what i am suggesting.hopefully kaz will consider. "a team must get both WIN and Perk goals to obtain the +perk"
and i agree with rgm's high rollback, that keep them above everyone.

as for apoa.. perk goals is first. but we are showing some sign of our true game this past 3 games.

Actually, that is a pretty good idea. But at the same time that would only further separate the good teams from the rest once they get the perk points, but it would most likely only be a few perk points difference anyway.

Re: Season 36 Power Rankings Week 3

level 8 will be more difficult. teams who will rat will surely benefit this when they compete d next season.
that way, will be impossible for a team to dominate every season.

and every game will be important.

Re: Season 36 Power Rankings Week 3

Okay I am getting started now, I should have one or both up within an hour or two. They'll definitely be up before the next game.
