Ouch, Old West demolished Manchester Rain, and I even had most of my perk grinding done before the game! That is most definitely not a good sign! Good game!

Close one NFL Blitz! Again, I had most of my grinding done before the game so I am a little disappointed. Good game!

Holy hell! 65-128?! Old West at it again....

Well, looks like we made up 57 points tonight somehow. They must be playing around with something because I didn't change a thing.

I didn't change anything either....  Kind of funny how the sim works sometimes.  I think the second game was much more accurate, could have easily gone either way.  GG

I've seen randomness in the sim engine before, but not on a range of 50+ points from night to night late in the season like that. I certainly hope last night's game was more representative of the mean than the previous game. GG, maybe we'll meet again in the playoffs.

Re: Season 44

Good game to both Animal House and LoL, both games went down to the wire and were fun to watch the PBP for. This is the best I've ever felt heading into the West League Playoffs.

Re: Season 44

Nobody has any MVP/DPoY thoughts - Did all the work...

Old West has to be the prohibitive favourite coming into the Playoffs. Manchester Rain #2. CR Vets coming on strong at the end again. LoL dropping off a little bit but would never count them out.

Animal House, Old School, NFL Mascots are right behind them.

Pimps, Wafu and NFL Blitz are off the pace at the moment and it would have to be considered a major upset if any of those 3 took the West League Championship.

[3] Gem Archer - Manchester Rain - 7.8ppg, 19.2rpg, 2.1spg

I'm honored that you put one of my players in 1st on the MVP list but I don't expect to win the award, he's kind of been like a "jack of all trades" player with great (but not top level) rebounding.

My lists would probably look like:

MVP:
1. Lux
2. Thailand
3. Greg Marmaland

DPOY:
1. Thailand
2. I Am Weasel
3. Jesse James

TMJ in that middle group atm I'd say. My bad for forgetting them.

LoL just hanging on in that top group but could drop down.

Of course, come playoff time it's a different ball game (which is kinda sucky but hey)

Assuming LoL gets past CRV, I really hope I don't have to play MR - Can't figure out why they own LoL this year. So, let's hope my other team PR/NFL Mascots can take them out wink

GG NFL Blitz, but it's still raining in Manchester!

I'm really scared of NFL Mascots after the way they made Team Wafu look like a bunch of girls.

Re: Season 44

Damn, that was an ass whooping. CRV big over Pimp too. Should be some good matchups! All 1 and 2 seeds.

Being on 3 teams, it'll be interesting to see how different strategies fair.

Re: Season 44

ELITE EIGHT PREVIEW

Old West vs. The Magic Johnsons
Old West has been the best team in the league all season long and enters the game having won 19 of their last 20 games. They have been dominant in all aspects of the game.

One to watch: Billy the Kid. Billy is the league assist leader and is averaging 20.0 per game so far in the playoffs. Look for him to consistently set up his teammates throughout the game.

The Magic Johnsons enter the game having hovered around a 0.500 record for the entire season, with their record being bolstered by the 4-game winning streak they enter on. While three of those wins were against low-level teams, the win against LoL shows they belong.

One to watch: Lyndon B. Johnson. The stately shooter is the team's only major award winner, earning Second Team recognition for a a season in which he averaged 25.5 points. The team will need a big night from him if they expect to move on.

Old West is 5-1 against the Johnsons, with the one loss coming early in the season as they were still finding their footing. Old West has to be favored by double digits and the Johnsons will need a sneak attack to have a shot in this one.

PICK: Old West by 17

Old School All-Stars vs. Animal House
The Old School All-Stars have been a streaky team this season, but fortunately for them, they enter on one of their hot streaks, having won 8 of their last 9. Their strong run in the late season has pushed them from a middle of the pack team to a top 5 contender.

One to watch: I Am Weasel. Weasel is one of the top defenders in the game and a front runner for defensive player of the year. While he does not have much to offer on the offensive side of the ball, he will be everywhere all at once on defense, whether it's rebounding, blocking, or stealing the ball.

Animal House has looked like a contending team lately after starting out as a middling team, having won 8 of their last 10. They are a tough team and they have the statistical makeup of a champion, with strong contributors in all aspects of the game.

One to watch: Gregg Marmaland. Marmaland is the league's leading scorer and has erupted on several occasions for 40+ points. Look for him to shoot the ball from everywhere on the court early and often.

The two teams have only met twice this season, but Animal House won each contest convincingly. The Old School All-Stars appear to be a better overall team, but Animal House is both hot and a matchup problem for them.

Pick: Animal House by 5

Manchester Rain vs. Go Go NFL Mascots Go
The Manchester Rain started the season as one of the better teams in the league, winning their first eight games as well as having three other major win streaks. However, the Rain has been cold late in the season, losing 3 of their last 4 coming into the playoffs. They suffered a particularly demoralizing loss to Old West, losing by 63 points before coming back to only lose by 6 the very next night.

One to watch: Gem Archer. The center has been mentioned in some circles as an MVP candidate due to his well-roundedness. In addition to being a stellar rebounder, he makes significant contributions as a scorer, blocker, and defender. The Rain will need him to own the interior tonight.

Go Go NFL Mascots Go are a team that has come on strong in the late season, entering tonight's game on a 7-game winning streak, and all of these wins came by double digit margins. They were easily the most impressive team in the Sweet Sixteen round, beating Team Wafu by 50 points.

One to watch: Pick Axe. Axe has been a dominant player in two aspects of the game, rebounding and blocking. Axe has been a dominant player in the interior all season long and enters on an astounding 5-game streak having 20+ rebounds and 8+ blocks.

Manchester Rain is 4-0 this season against the Mascots, but the teams have not met during the Mascots' current hot streak. The big man matchup between Archer and Axe will be fun to watch as these are two of the best in the entire league and it's likely that this battle will determine the outcome of the game.

Pick: Mascots by 3

LoL vs. CR Veterans
LoL played like one of the league's top teams for most of the season before an odd 5-game losing streak late in the season. They ended this skid with a convincing win over Pimpolgy2 and they hope that win will propel them to playoff success. LoL has the best offense in the league and will look to engage their opponent in a shootout.

One to Watch: Lux. Lux has been mentioned as an MVP candidate and rightfully so as the best scoring point guard in the game, with a 20-5 line that is only challenged by teammate Nidalee. Lux will be expected to score 20 and set up her teammates all throughout the game for easy scores.

CR Veterans have been among the upper half of teams for the entire season but they only won 6 of their final 11 regular season games. After a solid win over the Manchester Rain to end the regular season, they have started a mini-winning streak, including an impressive 27-point win over Pimpolgy2 in the Sweet Sixteen.

One to watch: Come Again. Again is yet another in long line of two-dimensional centers, being a dominant rebounder and blocker. Again will be expected to be a defensive force throughout the whole game and dominate the paint.

The two teams split their 4 meetings this season 2-2. LoL's high scoring output from their dunkers will be challenged heavily by the interior defense of Come Again and Mister Moose, but their outside scorers stand a good chance of making up the slack.

Pick: LoL by 6

Re: Season 44

END OF 3rd QUARTER UPDATES from NBCJ Sports:

-Old School All-Stars have opened up some separation and lead Animal House by 10. They have 4 players with 16 or more points.

-LoL has created some momentum and have closed the gap to 3. The Vets have had no answer for LoL's outside shooting this quarter.

-The Johnsons vs. Old West has been a true game of quarters, as the Johnsons had another strong quarter and now lead by 5. Boris Johnson's 8 blocks have been key to the surprising scoreline.

-The Manchester Rain hold their advantage at 7 over the Mascots despite some strong runs throughout the quarter. The Rain already have two players about 30 points.

Re: Season 44

Who would've guessed TMJ but not MR would make the final four. CR Vets can't get across the line for the third season in stow, and the prohibitive favourite Old West eliminated. Good to see some drama.
