Re: The Manilla tell all story :)

3 car garage. We saw the same model down the street in which they made the 3 car garage (of to the side) into a hard wood game room.  I like it A LOT!  Also has a pool.  In this market we may try and buy it.

LMFAO @ Pawtuckets responses. I hate to admit what I imagined you were typing with. I thought my 2 finger pecking method was bad. But the 1 pecker pecking method haunts my dreams. LOL  good stuff.

here is the old league:   www.goallin.com  Shows the same setup etc.

Oh and BTW I live in Surprise, AZ. With the market/recession/economy you can get all I described for under $200k  so really not a lot to brag about these days.

Sad thing is the market is about half what it was a few years ago:

Re: The Manilla tell all story :)

yeah I believe you. We watch home hunters and stuff and all the places in district 1 in the Bay area start at like $350k....sick

Luckily right now in AZ you can buy a LOT for the money. We have all the pro sports, great weather, but there was too much building and silly investors.

Sorry if it sounded like I was bragging. Just wanted to make known what I was really proud of. Not games but real life stuff. Sorry I was being real with ya'll.

this is a forum for a game, not a "real life" forum. you turned it into real life vs. the game, by comparing the two. i could write a big paragraph about my accomplishments, but no one gives a shit, hence why i dont.

lol.  when i first got out here 3 years ago, even a 2 bdrm, 2.5 bath, condo-style townhome was pushing upper 4s.  if you want to talk about a real house, you were talking 3/4 of a mill at least.  you're really lucky to have homes for $160k.  i'd snag one of those without a thought.

Re: The Manilla tell all story :)

Hi.... smile

Just wanted to see if anyone remembers this thread and the impact it had on this game. Also for the "newer" members too see the pioneers of the high chems and how crazy things used to be here.
Just read the whole thing for the 1st time since it happen and i just can't believe some of the things said. Like Kazz claiming how unbalanced we were even though we were balanced in every attribute.

Anyway for you active members out there where do "modern day" team total points rack up against this? I'm making a little comeback now but i've been out of the game for over a year and a half now so i truly am clueless.

Still to this day it baffles me that we had double the amount of total sim points then the Franchise Underdogs "most dominant season ever" had the season before us; and we didn't even make it to the sweet 16....

p.s. i take it stat distribution is still shitty?

Well, two teams with high sim points playing TSS, one team is losing, the other is beating them. No, the sim was not broken, because your team lost, you were just not very good with the slider setting. wink

Manilla Gorilla was neither the first team with such a strategy nor the first team with a level 7 pair, you were just the first bragging about it. Others just kept their mouth shut and didn't care whether there was a sign for level 7 or not. wink

I also wouldn't call MG the "pioneers of high chems". In season 5 on the Tanks I trained KJ higher in Shooting than anyone else I know trained his player in a single attribute. KJ went on winning Playoffs MVP while I realised that the strategy has to be going for higher chem levels. I suspected at that time that the White Wash Ten did that in season 2 to 4 already, their playoff performances indicated that they just had higher chem levels than others. Air Time's strategy was using the sliders to generate as much Leadership as possible in the playoffs, and when the Sharks BC made it to the Final 4 in season 4, I guess they also used a strategy with higher chems than others given the fact that they were very low in total trained points.
The success of the Bullets in season 6 (started in Pro D due to younger players with a disadvantage due to the rollback, ended up as Pro A and making it to the Elite 8) with a GR strategy (keep in mind that we beat the FU clone WEB that season and stopped their 18 game winning streak), turtle and myself decided before the start of season 7 to go with a GR+WW strategy with the Bullets. We were beaten up badly at the start of the season due to the fact to have no skill points in our chem attributes. Remember how the Pats beat the Bullets early in the season by 75 only to lose in the playoffs to them by 21?

The stats distribution is still the same, it is still connected to the chem level of the respective attributes and not to the sim points. And you can't compare the sim points in season 6 with the sim points in season 7. In season 7 multiple teams exceeded the sim points of the season 6 FU, not just your team.

The Baltimore Bullets (S4 - S17): 395-210 RS record; 38-13 PS record; Runner-up in S 7, 13, 16, 17; Elite 8 in S 6, 9, 10, 12, 15; Pro A/B from S 6 to 17

Again like i stated in this thread before like a million times it seemed, i never said the "sim" is broke but just the stat distributioin part of it.

I guess we'll never technically know who had Level 6 & 7 1st but all i can say is the level 7 chem is colored after Manilla Gorilla, even kazz himself in a post in this thread mentioned us emailing him about it. Not that it proves anything but just a key note

Also im not saying alot of teams didn't have higher Sim points in Season 7 then FU had in Season 6(i'm sure about half of Pro A did), the fact that we practically doubled theirs 1 season after and were balanced was simply amazing
If the reason we lost was truly b/c we didn't have enough leadership then leadership is waaaaay overpowered in this game which is really dumb IMO.

Re: The Manilla tell all story :)

Up to now... I am still completely clueless as to how any one player can have a TSP of 14k. @_@ Let alone a team with a Level 5 Chemistry average. Wow.

LOL. Not just the learning part is difficult. Training to get there, fixing the sliders plus which chemistries to get. @_@

Some of that will take some time.....you have a lot of new (low trained) players on the team. You also might think about changing your team a little bit.....imo.

You currently have 1 leader but 2 def and 1 blk. The actual chems don't really matter as long as they all match your mains (for now).

Read through topics in the rookie forum and never hesitate to post questions in the rookie forum when you have them.......there should be people willing to give you opinions on how to improve your team. smile
