I just might do that. He has to deal with hundreds of you retards who don't understand the basics of running a business, be it online or not. He can't just go giving deals because a member missed out on a previous one. If you haven't seen the thread already, it states Kaz is making over $1,000 a month with this gig. The stats aren't even close to 100% and I'd go out on a limb saying he probably makes over $2,500 with it.

This just proves that not everyone can be happy with a game that is 100% free to you. Choosing to pay $5 a month is a choice, you can always play for free.

I'm guessing a good amount over 2,500...

One member pmed me saying he did someething like this and took into considerations ads, etc and it came out to around 10 grand a month!

I think that is a little high though.

That number is AMAZINGLY high, IMO. If Kaz were really making 120 thousand dollars a year, would he really have a job? Wouldn't he be putting every minute into the game?

I think even 2500 a month is a little high, after expenses and everything are figured out.

I'm not including expenses and everything.
I just want to see how much he makes from us, not his profitablity.

Re: Something Needs to be Done Kazz...

I'm a little late on this, but I completely agree that there HAS to be some gameplanning involved. It would make the game a lot more fun.

I know absolutely nothing about this, but how much does it cost to run a website this size (about 100,000th ranked in views, right?)

Re: Something Needs to be Done Kazz...

Is this a necro-bump or just some attention whoring?

Kinda sad to look through this thread and see how many of the posters are gone or have one foot out the door...  sad

Re: Something Needs to be Done Kazz...

I actually found it pretty funny that the history of whining goes back way before my time smile  I don't understand why everyone has trouble with the concept that things grow old and become less fun over time.  Now I'd love to see new features or whatever, but I never pay for something expecting it to get better.  I pay for exactly what it is, and my expectations end right there.

I guess it's that the game engine and everything was constantly improving for a while, whereas now it's entered somewhat of a lull. A lot of that comes from the fact that as something grows, far more time has to be spent with the administrative side of things (think about the number of PMs/emails Kaz gets each day tongue) and you have less and less time to spend developing things - and this site has grown massively from when I started early in season 2. For games with an ongoing fee, I think it's fair enough to expect improvements. If I pay once for a game, I expect it to stay the same. If I have a 'subscription' - I'd expect changes. I guess that's the difference I'd draw there.

Some people need to be perma-banned so that their stupidity never has to be endured by other users.

Re: Something Needs to be Done Kazz...

That is a really good point Camel.  I think a major reason why I am satisfied when others are not is that I was not around when things were different.  My expectations are totally different because there have been limited changes since I became active (roughly season 9), and I was not around for the older days when Kaz and Bgirl posted way more.

I felt the same as you bbkaos, until my 9th season. I started to get tired of the game, and am slowly recedeing into retirement...gradually.
