Nobody had OKC improving to this extent. Everyone had them improving, to like 9th-11th. But never this good. They are supremely better than people thought they'd be. Brooks is the man at the helm, not anyone else, he deserves a lot of credit.
Milwaukee are back on track but they're not really playing a heap better than anyone thought they would. They picked up Jennings and made a few small changes and GM gets credit. Skiles has done a good job, sure. I have him in my top 5 or 6 or whatever. But Brooks has exceeded expectations for his team this season far far far more than Skiles.
Amazing...
OKC improve from finishing 13th in their Conference last season to 6th now... And you're right: I don't think anyone expected this much improvement, but improvement was expected.
Milwaukee improve from finishing 12th in their Conference last season to 5th now... and no-one expected any improvement at all. If you state that you expected Milwaukee to a) be 5th, or b) to be beating teams like the Celtics... then you're telling porky-pies.

Not so impressive this season, honestly. Still impressive, but it doesn't hold as much weight as it would've in past seasons.

Ii think we'll agree to agree that both coaches are in with a shot.
Agree to disagree on the order.
And pointing out that Milwaukee is "beating teams like Boston" - Don't you usually pick on people for using one game as their sample heheheh ![]()

Although really, I don't see why COTY doesn't go to the best coach, but the one who has had his teams exceed expectations by the greatest amount. Considering how often COTY winners have ended up being dud coaches it would be worthwhile changing I think.

Because that's a part of it. The most skilled player doesn't always get MVP, for example. It comes down to being impressive, IMO.

Clippers fans everywhere, okay all 2 of you, can rejoice. Dunleavy finally got fired all together.

Except you're not looking at the difference in rosters in that case (looking MERELY at winning %). May as well just look at where they are ranked in their respective conferences...
And are Milwaukee about to do a number on Boston?
What changes did the bucks make from last season to this season? just curious
The thunder didn't do much. They drafted Harden and Brooks has used him perfectly. Then they started playing Ibaka and developing him. And then they picked up Maynor.

I'm indifferent. I don't think he did a bad job as GM over the past few seasons.

reason brooks is COTY, to simplify my opinion a whole bunch - only in the east could a team like the sixers be 10th
if the thunder were in the east they'd be 5th
if the bucks were in the west they'd be 9th
they wouldn't even have a playoff spot, let alone improve like the thunder do
west is shitloads better than the east, and the thunder improving so drastically is crazy impressive

Latest word is that yes, Kobe Bryant is the "most clutch" in the NBA.

And Boston down by 25 to Memphis, IN Boston.
Lovin' it.

Almost 4th Q, and Westbrook is 2 rebounds and 1 assist shy of a triple double.
Yeeesh!

Oh man... again?
Look... I don't really use smiley's, but does that necessarily mean that I'm ALWAYS completely serious?
Here:
(edited to get that smiley in. Far more appropriate!)

Tyereke Evans with the Triple Double, He was probably already the leading candidate for Rookie of the Year does this solidify that or does Sac-Town need a few more wins.
Offline
Curry already had a triple double earlier this year. That being said, Curry started playing great too late in the season. Evans has been doing his thing all year, so he'll probably bring home the hardware unless Curry absolutely goes off the rest of the way.

They'd be my #1/2 now. Tho' Jennings could still push.

I really don't think Jennings is in the running any more. His play has seriously dropped off a cliff since his blazing start.
