Team Awards

I just want to know if i'm the only one who does this:
For my team, every season i make a forum titled "team awards".
I have Awards up for grabs such as MVP, Most Improved, 6th man, etc.
I send out a ballot to my team and let them vote and those are the winners. It just adds some entertainment and a spin on the usual game.
I also use the greasemonkey "Player of the Game" script to tally in a forum who gets the most players of the game AND Bench Players of the game during each win in the season.
I usually let the overall player of the game winner pick the team theme for the next season.

Anyone else do stuff like this?

No problem, we have our  Smoke Awards (named after our founder Smokdaganj) and a big blowout at The Mansion.

Re: Team Awards

It really is a good motivator. I wonder why more teams don't do this? And also, whats a good perk for winning MVP, or the Greasemonkey Script Player of the season?

Re: Team Awards

I like the idea.  Though I would change it a bit.  The captain/co-captain have impact on stats, improvements, etc.  Imagine being the leadership player on a team...  So the team should try to recognize things that an individual can contribute.  It may be silly, but the player with the highest primary, the player that contributed to team forums, etc. would be fun awards to have the team vote on.

I usually let the overall player of the game winner pick the team theme for the next season.

Yep you're not alone, I use the PotG greasemonkey script to figure out the team's player of the week as well as the team's seasonal mvp.

Edit: Although I do have to agree that Leadership players get shafted by the current formula as my team's various leadership players over the seasons have generally been the bottom two or close to it.

Thats interesting. The player of the week eh?
What do you give out as a perk for the winner of the seasonal mvp?

Awesome stuff bro.On my teams We have a Team Records Room but haven't done any awards like you mentioned.
I like your style and feel it would be an awesome feature not only for the team forums but for CR as a whole.
Someone mentioned that captains should listen.I agree but also feel the Mod's should also since its a great idea for CR too.

Heres an example of my Flight Team Forum Team Record Thread in Kareem League. Its simple but it keeps track of certain records.
Others may want to include more stats also, this is just ours.
