Long story short, it's starts off every player at an equal playing field plus they never expire. Their are other pros and cons but it seems West is dead anyways.

Shoot a PM to Tore a Bore a, I'm sure we can find room on the ever name changing team of ours.

I would hope not... I understand in the beginning it is quite a bit to navigate through. 

West was intended to be an experimental league, both for players as well as Kaz.  So Kaz can try new versions of the software that may be included in the other leagues, or not.  For captains, you can try various strategies and not have to worry about spending a season ratting or attempting a strategy that takes a couple seasons to recover from.  Early on, as the team I've been involved with, we tried more ideas and strategies.  As the game hasn't changed much over the past seasons, we have gotten lazy and tend to repeat the strategy and our player types season after season. 

But certainly, it can be a fun challenge.  We've tried a proficiency plan, a hide your primary plan, and our current one (can't really say that one in the forum).  It would be better if there was more competition, but we make due with the competition that exists.
