Passing/Ball Handling

Does a good passer get more/less assists and turnovers than a good ball handler?

Re: Passing/Ball Handling

depends on your line up. But I never saw that much of a difference. Others may be able to help you on that though

Re: Passing/Ball Handling

Just now, I looked at the rankings for the top ten players who are averaging the most assists in all of Court Rivals. From what I saw, only one of those ten had ball handling as their primary. The other nine had passing as their primary. I have no idea if that means that passing is better than ball handling when getting assists, though. I thought I heard from bbkaos (a Court Rivals veteran from a few seasons ago) said that he didn't see much of a difference between passers and ball handlers.

I hope this helps, but I honestly have no idea. Although, I would say that bbkaos (the Court Rivals user I mentioned above) has quite a bit of credibility. Therefore, you might want to listen to what he said.

Re: Passing/Ball Handling

From what I have noticed, ball handlers usually have slightly less turnovers than passers. This is just what I seem, there are obviously cases of the opposite.

Re: Passing/Ball Handling

It depends a lot on the scorer in the lineup with you.

I can't remember which way it works, but a passer works better with one type of scorer and a ball handler works better with another type of scorer.

Re: Passing/Ball Handling

Not the kind of question they answer.

I'd wager to guess that passers dominate the top 10 because most BHs are sliding some portion of their ball handling points to 3pt shooting.

This is the most logical reason

Re: Passing/Ball Handling

yeah basically it will depend on the line up or what type of scorer are there on his line

bh can slide to 3's

passing can slide to shooting and dunking.

Not necessarily. I've seen b-handlers with 90% take more 3's average 10+ assists, and passers with 100% pass more struggle to average 7 assists. It really depends on the skills of other players on the line with them.

It also depends on your secondary. A passer/ball handler with a scoring secondary will not average as many assists as one with a ball handling/passing secondary.

Re: Passing/Ball Handling

It matters. Generally, ball handlers will reach level 7 and use athleticism when passers do not. Ball handling per sim point has less assists and less turnovers. I actually don't mind using free throws, as it slides over to passing and ball handling when the slider is set to pass more.
